How Much of My Donation Goes to the Designation?

Child sponsorships have always been a foundation of GGI’s work and mission and we continue to support hundreds of children giving them hope for a better future. As we continue to support our ministry and outreach work in Africa and Haiti, GGI strives for fiscal responsibility and to send as much as possible of your donations to our overseas projects.

In fact, 100% of all “Designated Giving” goes directly to the designation! GGI raises non-designated money to help pay for the low overhead and expenses we do have. Overall, for every dollar given to GGI, 1.3% goes to credit card fees and 2.4% goes to GGI expenses. That is probably the lowest non-profit overhead you’ll find anywhere and we’re working on making it even better in 2021!

John Kimsey

Board Member, President, Treasurer and Uganda Director

“My name is John Kimsey and I volunteer for Grace Giving International. I am a husband of a beautiful wife, father of four wonderful children, full-time employee at a “real” job, and a son of the Most High God. I believe it is my duty to follow God’s calling in my life and even though it can be hard to discern what that calling is, I firmly believe He has called me to support the Holy Spirit’s work in Uganda. I volunteer my time, talents, and treasures with GGI because I wish to share the Gospel of Christ with others, to follow the Lord’s command to help those, to demonstrate the love of Christ through my actions, and to make a difference in the lives of others. All of these things I’m called to do I can through GGI. As the Country Director for Uganda, it is my privilege to raise the needed financial support to enable the local church to serve their community, share the gospel of Christ, and live out our brotherly faith in Jesus.”

Board Member, Vice President and Congo Director

Giving becomes essential when your will to please God outweighs your will to please the world. My wife and I have been married for 33 years, and have 6 grown children, three of whom are adopted. We also have 5 grandchildren.

I have over 30 years experience coaching, and tried to use coaching as a means to develop young men into men of character. I have served 5 years as a board member of GGI.

Karla Darcy

Board Member, Secretary and Haiti Director

"I'll serve you any way you like Lord, just tell me what to do!" Over 15 years ago that was my prayer and God answered with adoption. My husband and I adopted a child from Haiti and fell in love with the country. We have continued to stay connected, and build relationships. It is our heart to minister to those in need - widows, orphans, the poor and the oppressed. GGI's ministry in Haiti gives hope to families by sending their children to school and encouraging/teaching them to self sustain. We get to be the hands and feet of Jesus. It is a beautiful thing to be a part of!

In 2005, after my wife and I adopted from Haiti, God flooded my heart with an overwhelming desire to help the children and families in Haiti. Building strong relationships in Haiti has allowed the GGI ministry to provide opportunities for children and families to learn about and trust in Jesus Christ as well as receive a quality education in safe loving environment.

Proverbs 31:8-9 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

As a founding member of Grace Giving International, it has been exciting to watch God grow this ministry and bless so many widows and orphans.

I have always had a heart for the less fortunate. As a child, I started what I called “The Care Club” to raise money for orphans. So, I wasn’t surprised when God called me to adopt in 2005. However, as a single woman and nurse practitioner, I wasn’t sure I could do it. I prayed for one full year, looking for every excuse not to. But God cleared away all my excuses, every obstacle, and made a way! My children are from Ethiopia and I have a real heart for Africa. Serving on the board of Grace Giving allows me to fulfill my mission I felt called to so many years ago.
